In Act3, scene3, Hamlet passes a chance to kill Claudius when it seems the circumstances just couldn’t suit him better. Why? Of course, one may argue that one reason behind his is simple. “A villain kills my father, and for that, I, his sole son, do this same villain send to heaven. Why, this

is hire and salary, not revenge”. Hamlet decides to wait until the moment his uncle reaches a nadir, morally and spiritually, so that upon his death, Claudius would be sent to hell. Apparently, Hamlet is not only seeking his uncle’s death, but wants to make sure there is no way that Claudius would be granted salvation from above.
After closely examining the the previous acts of hamlet, it seems that prince may in fact be driven by more than just one factor to put off killing of Claudius. As the earlier lines suggest, hamlet is ofte struggling in his thoughts. he doesn’t know what to do or feel. Overwhelmed, he must decide to be or not to be. These lines portray the ambiguity from which hamlet suffers at times. hamlet finds that he has to make a dicision whether he will suffer passively or take action.
Moreover, hamlet’s often occuring introspection pulls on his strings of conscience. it is his conscience that frightens him to commit murder of claudius. Clearly, Hamlet points out that his conscience is bothered by the obligation that he too upon himself. he does not find himself in a comfortable state – having to avenge his father. Together, all these factros that weighed on hamlet’s ming could influence his decision making process in the moment he decided to abstain from murder.
